3 Best Bakeries for Desserts & Breads Across AmericaAcross America Food The List
Flaky pastries, delectable desserts, and melt-in-your-mouth donuts. If the sound of these make your sweet tooth salivate, keep reading! We’re showing you three of the best bakeries across America.
1. Bouchon Bistro – Las Vegas, Nevada
Let’s start at the Bouchon Bistro in Las Vegas, Nevada. A Michelin Star-awarded chef who opened The French Laundry and Per Se restaurants, Thomas Keller expanded his Bouchon Bistro to include a bakery. “The bakery developed into a place to experience what you would in France,” he says. Popular treats include macarons, tarts, pies, the eponymous chocolate Bouchons – and their famous croissants! “[They’re] light, buttery, crispy, [and] flakey.” We’ll take a dozen, please! It’s no wonder the Venetian has three locations throughout their hotel and casino.
2. Wildflower Bread Company – Phoenix, Arizona
From sin city pastry to Phoenician bread, our next stop is the Wildflower Bread Company in Phoenix, Arizona. “Bread is really both an art and a science,” says the bakery’s founder Louis Basile. From start to finish, handcrafting each loaf of bread takes forty-eight hours. “It’s really something that is nurtured and cared for,” adds Louis. “This is something that is time-honored; you cannot rush making great bread.” Wildflower is also a cafe, but it’s the bread that people really flip for. And there’s no commercial yeast, additives, or preservatives at Wildflower.
3. The Salty Donut – Miami, Florida
Our final spot is The Salty Donut in Miami, Florida. “We just really wanted to do something that was for our city,” shares Andy Rodriguez, The Salty Donut’s co-owner. Miamians line up around the block to try their artisanal offerings. The menu includes maple bacon donuts, fritter donuts, and mimosa donuts. “Everybody that comes through is just happy,” says the shop’s manager Jandree Aviega. Who wouldn’t be happy chomping treats like these?!
If the smell of sugary pastries and fresh breads take your nostrils to nirvana, then do your taste buds a solid and stop by these bakeries!
