Think of the hardest thing you've ever accomplished. Did it save your life? Milan Ross lost over 300 pounds and created a book, The Change Cookbook, and food brand empire with the mission of doing just that: saving lives. Get ready to be seriously inspired. He’s sharing three healthy and life feeling secrets of a plant based diet with Teresa Strasser.
1. Animal-Free Doesn’t Equal Health
Potato chips are vegan and so is Coca Cola. Packaged vegan foods can be high in sugar and fattening oils. Whole food plant-based is where you've been eating foods that have been messed with as little as possible. Look for foods that don't have a package.
2. Don’t Give Up Your Favorite Foods
Milan had to learn how to remake all the foods he loved so he could still have them. He enjoys lentil sloppy Joes, portabella mushroom steak and the occasional slice of butter-free peach pie. It's all about seasoning and flavors. Then your mind will still think it’s great food.
3. It’s Not “All or Nothing”
The biggest thing Milan wants you to know is you don't have to make a drastic change. Sometimes people fail because they feel it's too much at once and they feel overwhelmed. Take one meal a day or one day week and do "no meat” and you can add days or meals as you progress.
