3 signs that pop culture is the key to saving the world

When the world is in trouble and its citizens need saving, who do they call? Superman? Iron Man? Don't be silly! We call on our pop culture icons to bring some cheer to our daily lives. From Beyonce to Facebook, and even to the King of Pop, our favorite pop culture hot topics are making the news, and our lives, a little brighter in the coming weeks. So, take heart, citizens! Jared Cotter and Kristina Guerrero are showing you the 3 ways pop culture is the key to saving the world.

1. Icons to the Rescue

Our pop icons know that if they can get their legions of fans to band together for a cause, it'll make a difference; and their proving that theory with an upcoming Hand in Hand telethon. All of your favorite stars will be coming together to inspire you to donate to those affected by the most recent hurricanes.

The September 12th telethon will be aired on every major network you can think of, and even on Facebook, Youtube and Twitter, meaning, wherever you are, whatever you're doing, you can answer the call of your pop culture heroes and help other citizens like you get back on their feet.

Learn more about the telethon and who'll be lending their hands here.

2. Facebook Watch-Dog

Sometimes you're stuck in a line, waiting forever to get to the front or you're stuck at your in-laws' place and you just need a quick escape. But what will you do with no television to access to make time go by faster with a good show? Have no fear - Facebook Watch is here.

The new Facebook app will feature both short and long form videos from TV channels you love like A&E, National Geographic, and will even let you watch sports, no matter where you are. As long as you've got your computer or mobile device, Facebook Watch is always there to make lines and in-law visits fly by.

3. The King Gives Hope to His Subjects

If you find solace from your woes in music, then you've got to be excited about Michael Jackson's newest album being released on September 29th. Whether you've always been a fan of the King of Pop or you need a refresher, the album will include 12 classic songs - and more - that will make you marvel at his talent all over again.

Enjoy this sneak peak of one of the MJ mash-ups that will be featured on the album. Get your bedazzled gloves ready! It's time to suit up and save the world.
