Looking to make some cash while clearing out the attic? If you find these, your wallet could be on the "Stairway to Heaven":
1 & 2. The Beatles' White Album
This one's a double album so it counts as two. You can tell your album is a first pressing because it will have a serial number at the bottom of it. The lower the number, the higher the value. Ringo had the number 1 copy and it recently sold for just under a million dollars! If you have a first pressing with a serial number, you won't just be on "Penny Lane", you'll be on Big Money Lane!
3. Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon
While it won't make you hundreds of bucks, if you can bear to part with this album, you can still score around $60 for it!
4. Guns N' Roses' Appetite for Destruction with the original cover
You're probably used to seeing this iconic album cover, but it's not the original *gasp* This is:
After several music retailers refused to stock the album because of the graphic cover, the label compromised and put the controversial cover art inside. The album with the original cover is worth between $100 and $300 depending on the condition of it.
5. The Beatles' Butcher Album
This album cover is definitely on the list of most controversial album covers - the original pressing looked like the one above, but of course that didn't go over well with stores, so they glued a much cleaner version over the top.
You can tell if you have an original copy by looking close on the right side. You can see Ringo's neckline from the original pressing through the white.
This one could score you anywhere between $500 to over $1000.
