Most of us are obsessed with our mobile devices, but there's one time we should drop the phone and that's when we eat! Kristina Guerrero three new ways that we all can disconnect when we dine and connect with the people around us.
1. Dining at Restaurants
Places like Caddy's in Tampa are issuing what they call "The Basket Challenge." Put your phone in the basket and if you don't touch it during the entire meal you'll get a 10 percent discount and some more time to focus on who you're with.
2. Disconnect with Friends
The "Phone Stack Game" is a great way to keep off your phone when dining out with friends. Stack them at the beginning and the first one to reach for their phone has to pay for the entire check. Now that's a great incentive to stay off your iPhone.
3. Disconnect with Family
You can use your phone to stay off your phone when you're eating at home with your family by using apps like Dinnertime. It's a user-friendly app that parents can download to remind their children about taking time away from their mobile devices to study, get the sleep they need and of course have dinner as a family. You can pick what apps are blocked and for how long so even if the kids have their phones at dinner they can't use them.
