40 dangerously delicious pies from the Canton pie shop

CANTON - There’s a sweet spot in Canton that serves up more than 40 kinds of sweet and spicy pie slices. Plus, real rock stars are the brains behind the baking.

“Every day is National Pie Day here at Dangerously Delicious pies,” said restaurant owner Mary Wortman.

Her shop is one of the sweetest places in Canton, mixing a little bit of country with a little bit of rock ‘n roll.

“A lot of our staff are not the traditional bakers that you would see. They are musicians,” she said.

“We have an Elvis pie which we call ‘Love Me Tender.’ Which is a cream with Swiss chocolate, whipped cream bananas and bacon.”

“We have apple, apple crumb, apple caramel crumb, pecan. We have a whole line of chess pies. Chess is a southern-style custard,” said Mary.

It’s not all sweets. This rock band bakery also whips up quiches and serves up some savory selections.

“Our home-style chicken pot pie. We have sausage tomatoes and fennel. One of our best sellers is our S.M.O.G. which is steak, onion, mushroom and Gruyere cheese,” said Mary.

With shops in D.C. and Detroit, the Baltimore pie shop has a little charm for all tastes.

“It’s very edgy. It’s a blend of your home-style family, but then it has a this really cool edge to it. I think that’s why people like to come here and come back.” Mary added.
