CINCINNATI - Coupon experts say you can have your Thanksgiving feast without busting your budget.
Savingslifestyle.com writer Andrea Deckard says the only thing you should worry about busting open this Thanksgiving are your pants after stuffing yourself for dinner.
The coupon queen offers classes on how to save at the grocery store.
"The goal of the classes is to help people save at least 50 percent or even more on their grocery budgets," Deckard said.
Deckard says whether you're shopping for Thanksgiving or every day meals the secret ingredient is plan, plan, plan.
"Trying to figure out what the meals are going to be for the week and sticking to it, even if it's just a dinner," Deckard said.
Deckard says shop the store circular to save even more. She also says you shouldn't skip the discount clubs just because your family is small.
"If you can save money on your hygiene items those are typically the biggest ticket items in anybody's budget. Buy those items at the discount club," Deckard said.
Kate Lawrence attended Deckard's drug store savings class and says she's already starting to save.
"I was the kind of person that never paid attention to my receipts. Never really looked at the coupons that printed out. I've been paying much more attention to those and looking into the rewards programs at various drug stores, which I really didn't participate in before, but I learned you can save a lot of money," Lawrence explained.
