The holidays are time for friends, family, and parties. We asked St. Petersburg designer Kimberly Hendrix about fashion during the holidays.
“You do want to be shiny. It’s a time to dress up it doesn’t even matter if it’s a casual party,” said Hendrix.
She suggests wearing a top or dress with some sparkle, but tone down the look with nude shoes and simple hair and makeup.
“You don’t want to be the joke of the party," said Hendrix.
Hendrix said that jeans are acceptable, but you need to use caution.
“It has to be more of a causal of a party,” said Hendrix. "Some people would be insulted if you wore jeans to their Christmas party."
Do’s and Don’ts of Holiday Fashion:
- Pair a sparkly outfit with nude shoes to tone down the look.
- Keep hair and makeup soft and simple. A shiny face doesn’t go well with a sparkly outfit.
- Don’t over accessorize, because it’s best to leave the ornaments for the Christmas tree.
- Don’t mix red and green unless you’re going to an ugly Christmas sweater party.
Busch Gardens' Christmas Town
Here’s a party that everyone is welcome to attend. Busch Gardens is holding “Christmas Town” this month.
The attraction will be open several different times during the holidays. The park is transformed into a nighttime wonderland.
Visitors can enjoy music, Christmas attractions, and even make a snow angel!
