TULSA, OK - We have all know not to judge a book by its cover, but with food it's impossible not taste first with your eyes. Stephanie Coon is a food stylist who shares simple tricks to make dressing up your Thanksgiving meal a breeze.
If it looks good and if it smells good chances are its going to taste good. At least that's what our brain tells us.
So much time is spent cooking the holiday meal it's a shame that so little effort goes into the final presentation. Sure the cook has been pouring over a hot stove for hours, but the final few minutes of preparation can make a big difference on how family and guest feel about their meal.
Food stylist Stephanie Coon has dressed up hundreds of plates for magazine photo shoots, but says it's a totally different game when it's time to make food good and make it edible. But it is possible.
Here are few tips to turn ,make your Thanksgiving meal look as good as it tastes:
1) Don't feel like you have to present an entire turkey on the table. The idea is nice but it's not at all realistic. Carving a turkey on the table will make a giant mess.
2) Throw on extra butter to make the rolls shine and make sure you take them out of the pan when you remove them from the oven because they will continue to cook in a hot pan.
3) Dessert is the highlight of the meal, but that doesn't mean it has to be homemade. A store bought pie will save a ton of stress and they generally look great right out of the box. All you need to do is throw on your own decoration and your guests will think you are Thanksgiving Master chef.
