TULSA - Maria Stevenson's idea for women's clothing is simple, elegant and for all ages.
"We want to design an outfit to make a woman feel amazing, like she can conquer the world," said Stevenson.
Everyday Maria and her mom, Betty Stevenson, churn out the designs of their dreams out of Maria's midtown home.
"To see [the clothing line] expand and others enjoy it is really gratifying," said Betty.
Betty moved to Tulsa so the duo could create Vestida Designs. Vestida is Spanish for "dress up," based on Betty's hispanic heritage.
"My mom is my best friend. Everything about her is amazing," said Maria.
Vestida is a ready-to-wear and custom clothing line without the custom prices. The company launched in 2012, but has grown quickly in popularity and recognition because of strong support from the community.
Vestida will show off its spring and summer collection Friday, February 19, 5-7 p.m. at the Mayo Hotel in downtown Tulsa.
