TULSA - Summer fishing may be over, but in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Pretty Water Lake is stocked all winter with trout.
"There are people who say to me, 'Tom, I lived here five or six years and I didn't know this existed,'" said Tom Chandler, Pretty Water Lake's caretaker.
For five months starting in December, The City of Sapulpa stocks this fishing hole with trout, so locals don't have to travel for the thrill of this cold-water catch.
"They're fun to fish," said Chandler. "It's not like any other fish."
It seems each fisherman out on the lake has their own secret to catching fish. They range from catching them in a kayak, to sitting on the sidelines. They also have their tricks to the fishing trade on how to cook the trout.
One angler says the best way to eat fresh trout is to put it tin foil and bake it in the oven. Another man tells says he prefers to fry them up in butter, and add lots of salt and lemon pepper.
