Trying Oklahoma's top appetizer

Oklahoma Magazine voters named Waterfront Grill's Crab Mango Avocado Stack appetizer the best of the year.

"I just thought Waterfront Grill needed a signature dish to set it apart and so we started playing around the kitchen and here we are," said Waterfront Grill owner Jim Blacketer.

This beautiful creation is constructed in a - surprise - PVC pipe!  Jumbo lump crab meat, fresh hass avocados and avacados are the main ingredients.  It's topped with remoulade, a fancy word for mayonnaise, red peppers, and bacon.

"You're supposed to tear it down and combine it together with a mint chile sauce on the plate," said Blacketer.

He must be doing something right - he's sold over 20,000 in just two years.
