The big movie in theaters Friday is "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey." The prequel to author J.R.R. Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" series stars Martin Freeman as Frodo's guardian, Bilbo Baggins.
From the multiple Oscar winning "Rings" series, "The Hobbit" also stars Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Cate Blanchett as Galadrial, Hugo Weaving as Elron, Elijah Wood as Frodo, and Andy Serkis as Gollum.
Serkis also helped 3-time Oscar winning director Peter Jackson with the directing.
The next two movies in "The Hobbit" series, "The Desolation of Smaug" and "There and Back," will be in theaters over the next two years.
In case you were curious, it's not just regular movie-goers who are exited about the release; the constellation of stars are also psyched about the movie.
