There is no exact formula for the perfect viral video. They mostly happen by surprise. Did you know the most viewed viral video of all time is “Charlie bit my finger.” It's been viewed over 494 million times since its upload 5 years ago.
Some videos make us laugh; others make us cry. But now advertisers are uploading a storm and hoping to strike gold in an internet-addicted world.
The result? The line between YouTube and your tube is blurring. Take a look at the three videos posted in this article. While all are viral videos, they are also kind of fake.
At first the video above looks like something a friend would forward to you, but it's actually a foreign Huggies commercial.
And then there's this recent video from AT&A.
Finally there are Rhett and Link who sang Lionel Richie's All Night Long, ALL NIGHT LONG. And just like that, it went viral. Not sure what they were advertising? It's Trident gum. You'll see it at the 44 second mark and again two minutes later. The video was made to launch their karaoke contest.
