3 Best Weight Loss Gadgets for 2016TechList The List
The days of eating pizza, a few hamburgers and a milkshake, without batting an eye, are gone. Now, dropping weight means diet and exercise. New technology can also help! Bradley Hasemeyer has three new innovations to help reach those diet goals.
This instant nutrition tracker scans the cells of food, so you can log your meal with one click. It’s an app that works with some fancy technology, to analyze the nutritional contents of your food. It provides the calories count, fat, carbs, protein, sugar, you name it! It won a CES 2016 Best of Innovation Award. You can order one online, but it's a bit pricey. The sensor $250 and the app charges a $20 monthly fee.
2. Absorb Plate
Thai food is delicious, but sometimes very greasy. To lower Thailand's obesity rate, their health foundation came up with the Absorb Plate. It’s the world’s first design innovation that makes Thai food less greasy. Each plate has hundreds of little holes to absorb the extra oil, reducing your meal by about 30 calories. That's about 10 pounds a year! Currently it's only being tested in local restaurants, but expect to see it in retail soon.
This “smarter” scale measures your weight, captures your body mass index, lean mass, and body fat percentage. It also syncs to your devices to track progress. It's available online and in most stores. A Fitbit Aria will set you back $130. Talk about a smart way to track your diet!
