3 Boozy Popsicle Recipes to Spike Up Your Summer 2018Food The List
Summer 2018 is heating up, so cool down with a creative take on the classic summer staple: popsicles! Read on for three popsicle recipes with a boozy twist.
1. Spiked Lemonade Ice Cubes
Let’s start with a grownup way to keep your lemonade nice and refreshingly cold.
- 1 lemon
- 1 1/4 cup of water
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1/4 cup of vodka
Start by mixing together lemon juice and water. Then add a splash of vodka. Our splash of vodka is pretty heavy handed, but add as much as you wish. You can even add lemon slices for a beautiful finish. Finally, fill up your freezer’s ice cube tray, freeze for four hours, and presto! You’ll be set all summer 2018.
2. Margarita Popsicle
Ready for our next popsicle recipe? Keep cool at the poolside with a margarita popsicle! And just remember – these are not your kids’ popsicles.
- 1 lime
- 1.5 cups of margarita mix
- 0.5 cup of tequila
- 0.25 tsp of kosher salt or margarita salt
Start by taking your favorite margarita mix, add some tequila, and pour it into a bowl. Then top each one with a lime, and freeze for six hours. Once your margaritas are ready, the only thing you’ll be missing is a little bit of salt. You know, to top it off like a real margarita!
3. Frosé Ice Pops
And last but certainly not least is a favorite for you wine lovers: frosé ice pops!
- 2 cups of rosé
- 1 1/2 cups of your choice of strawberries or raspberries
- 1 1/2 tbsp. of lime juice (optional)
This recipe is as easy as filling up ice pop bags with rosé and your favorite fruit. We chose strawberries and raspberries for this recipe, but use whichever fruit you’d like. Insider tip: use a funnel for filling the ice pops with rosé to help save your outfit from stains! The only thing left to do is freeze them overnight, and enjoy yourself a sweet summer.
Volleyballs aren’t the only thing you’ll be spiking this summer 2018 – because now you’ve got three sweet recipes to keep you tipsy while you tan.
