3 clever ways to have fun with plasticLifestyle The List
Plastic bags are a hot button issue for many people around the country, but no one is going to get mad about this use of plastic. Donna Ruko found some clever ways to make use of this polymeric material.
This is a plastic that makes, melds and mends. Just pick a color, toss it into hot water and three minutes later it'll be malleable and ready to mold into basically any shape you want. It's reusable and you can mix pieces together to make new colors — it even comes in a glow in the dark variety. You can get a box of five bars for around $15.
2. Renegade 3D Pen
This cool gadget turns you into a human 3D printer. It comes with different colored plastics that you load like a glue stick. Hit the button and start doodling. The Chupa Cut feature lets you shred old plastic bottles into strips that the pen uses to draw in 3D. Now that’s a great way to turn trash into treasure! It's available to preorder for around $68.
3. PocketMaker 3D Printer
This is a tiny affordable 3D printer. Just use their app to select and print little knick-knacks like a sushi press, cute figurines or accessories like a camera sun shade. If it’s not on the app, websites like Thingiverse have hundreds of models you can download and print in for free. It’s available to preorder around $130 and plans are to ship in June.
