3 Common Real Estate Myths DebunkedDeals The List
Buying and selling homes sure looks like fun, but in reality dealing with real estate can be confusing. Teresa Strasser met up with realtor Raegen Johnson to clear up three common myths that will make the process a little less stressful.
1. Zillow is Always Right
NOT TRUE. A lot of sellers do look at the Zestimates and think that is what their house is worth and every market is so different that you really do need to sit down with a real estate agent to determine what is the difference in your house versus other comparables that have sold. Even little differences like upgrades that Zillow may not be aware of can make a big difference in the value of your home.
2. All Agents Are the Same
NOT TRUE. People sometimes lump all agents into the same bunch without considering how different approaches can affect the sale. These days you're starting to see real estate agencies do more of that concierge service where it comes down to maybe staging a property as a service that they provide to their clients and in addition they are out there prospecting and getting people through.
3. Open Houses Bring Serious Buyers
NOT TRUE. What we see with open houses these days is that you're actually not seeing a lot of agents coming through or actual serious buyers really coming through open houses. Often, it's nosy neighbors and people looking for decorating ideas and not aggressive buyers.
