Sure, coconut oil is good for lighter cooking and moisturizing but it can help out in places other than your bathroom and kitchen. From your dishes, to your coffee table, even to your favorite zip-up jacket, coconut oil has awesome hacking ability and we're showing you the 3 ways you can get more bang for your buck with this do-it-all oil.

1. Sayonara, Rust

Coconut oil can help remove rust while cleaning and conditioning your metal. Just spread a layer of coconut oil over the rusted area and let it sit for at least two hours. When time is up, wash the item thoroughly with warm water and wipe clean with a soft cloth.

2. Unstick Your Zip

Got your zipper stuck while getting dressed? Grab some coconut oil and rub it along the length of the zipper to get it lubricated and moving again.

3. Put Some Shine in Your Wood

Don't run to the store for fancy and expensive wood finish to bring your wooden furniture back to life. Just use a tablespoon of coconut oil at a time with a clean, smooth cloth, and apply it to the wooden surface. Gently rub and buff until your furniture is back to its natural, beautiful state, lubricating the wood from the inside out. This method of cleaning also works for bringing leather back to life!

* Bonus:

Use coconut oil to pamper your pooch! You can clean and moisturize your pets' ears or cracked paws, dab it on their noses, put it on their food for a digestive aid, or rub it into their fur for shiny coats and added moisture. Or you can make tasty dog treats – they'd probably like that better.
