Good news! Manatees were just removed from the endangered species list and even better news, Jared Cotter has three fun ways you can experience rare animals like you've never done before.

1.  Captain Mike’s in Crystal River, Florida

Manatees are torpedo shaped mammals and they kind of look like your grandfather in a mermaid suit. They also help keep the environment balanced by eating tons of grass daily, and there's only three thousand left in the wild. You can hang with these cool creatures at Captain Mike’s. Packages start at $65 and Mike has even donated over $30,000 of profits to saving the manatee.

2.  Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center in Scottsdale, Arizona

Here you can dine with wolves and even if you go to a zoo you're not going to get the chance to get this close. Dinner with the wolves is just one of many events put on to save species like the Mexican Grey Wolf. In 1970 there were seven animals left, they were basically extinct. Fortunately, efforts have brought them back to 100 and counting. The conservation center offers wildlife events starting at $25.

3.  Turpentine Creek in Eureka Springs, Arkansas

Owning exotic cats is an illegal billion dollar industry and with few laws to protect them from abuse and neglect. That's where havens like this one come into play. Renting a lodge for $175 a night or camping for $65 a night means you help pay for the $10,000 a year they need for each cat.
