One of the coolest things about technology nowadays is that even as tech experts create new gadgets and products, they're always improving things we already know and love. This week, we've seen quite a few updates to some of your go-to gadgets, and they're making life smarter, smoother, and even a little safer. Jared Cotter and Kristina Guerrero are downloading this week's latest tech updates, and sending them straight to ya.

1. Give, the Smart Way

We all want to do what we can to help others in need, but you still have to look out for people trying to take advantage of your kindness. Thankfully, there's a tech solution to that – and it's your internet browser.

Make sure your donations are going to the right place by heading to CharityNavigator.org. Here, you'll be able to see the highest-rated and most trusted charity organizations, and know that your money is actually doing what you want it to do: help others.

2. All for VR, and VR for All

If you aren't into paying lots for a virtual reality TV and headset, some new technology has got you covered. Soon, you'll be able to dive into virtual worlds on your phone by creating with Google's AR Core. Turn the world around you into a virtual wonderland by building lions on desks and eating virtual ice cream – whatever you can think of! Just also make sure to look up once in a while – actual reality will definitely still be happening.

3. Back It Up and Park It

A lot of tech advances come out of our hatred for having to do certain things, like looking for parking while trying to follow your phone's directions. That's why Google Maps is taking its driving help to the next level. With a recent update, Android users will be able to access a list of parking spots or garages near their destinations.

Finally, no more driving past your destination to look for parking, only to keep hearing Google maps say, "Make a U-turn…turn left…" while you desperately try to find a parking spot in the same county as the restaurant you're trying to get to…finally.
