3 positive effects emoji are having on the worldLifestyle The List
Whether you like it or not cartoon faces, stomping flamenco dancers and applauding hands are changing the way we communicate, but it may be for the best. Lindsey Granger and Chatham University's Dr. Monica Riordan have three benefits of using emoji.
1. Effective Communication
Usually we aren't laughing with tears every time we use that particular emoji, but it helps you perform your role as a good friend. It’s in that same way texting a heart emoji would help you perform as a husband or wife, or texting a trophy to your sales team can help you perform as a coworker. Make sure to clarify what the emoji means to you.
2. Makes You Agreeable
Emoji can actually do a really good job of making a sender appear happier, of indicating a joke or irony, or even softening a negative comment.
3. Easier to Find Love
A Match.com survey said that people have much greater success at finding a match for themselves when they used emoji regularly in their online messaging. So go ahead and put those high heels or praise hands in your next message. They might help you out on your next date!
