Along with the Red Cross and everyday people, tech companies have shown their compassion by providing cutting edge products to communities in need. Today, Jared Cotter is featuring three businesses that have stepped up in a big way.

1.  Tesla

After Hurricane Maria knocked out power for Puerto Rico's 3.5 million residents, Tesla led the charge to help turn the lights back on. Owner Elon Musk and his company donated hundreds of its PowerWall products.

2.  LifeStraw

A huge challenge after any flooding event is clean drinking water so LifeStraw donated thousands of its advanced water purifying LifeStraw Go bottles to the residents of Houston and Puerto Rico. Each bottle provides the equivalent of 8,000 bottles of water, the filters are chemical free and remove 99 percent of toxins.

3.  Cubic

This defense technology company heard the call for help and sent several of its new portable satellite communication systems to Puerto Rico. Affectionately called the Beach Ball, the GATR antenna is like a compact cellphone tower providing residents the ability to call loved ones.
