We all know you can recycle bottles, cans and newspapers, but it doesn't end there. There are a lot of things in your house that can be left out of the trash and recycled. Donna Ruko is giving life to three things that usually end up in the landfill.

1. Bras

Ladies, you probably have a ton of bras you don't wear in your drawer! Send your neglected ones to The Bra Recyclers where they are donated or recycled. The company works with over 80 non-profits to donate your old bras that are in good condition. If they can't be reworn, they are made into things like rug padding and stuffed animals.

2. Mattresses

You know the rule: if it's over eight years-old, replace it. Don't throw your mattress in the trash because each one that ends up in a landfill takes up 23 cubic feet and can clog the equipment. Consider donating your mattress to a charity like Goodwill or have Mattress Disposal Plus pick it up. This company sends your old mattress to a recycling company where it is processed into materials like press boards and carpet pads.

3. Corks

When you're finished with that bottle of vino, send the cork to Recork. This company has turned more than 70 million corks into cork boards, yoga blocks and shoes. Recork works with wine stores like Bevmo, so while you're doing something good for the environment reward yourself with a new bottle.

Those are three simple ways to reduce trash.
