3 ways you can help others – just by playing video games!TechList The List
Playing video games may be an awesome way to make friends, learn new skills, and get really good at killing zombies; but it can also be a great way to help others in need. You can help raise money for charities and organizations that help better peoples' lives, just by picking up your favorite game piece or controller! Kristina Guerrero has got 3 charities you can support, just by getting your game on.
1. Extra Life
Extra Life is a non-profit that helps raise money for The Children's Miracle Network. Gamers commit to playing any game for 24 hours and get sponsors to donate money to support them. And if you can think of how many people love to game, you can also understand how the non-profit has raised over 30 million dollars for Children's Hospitals.
2. Able Gamers
Believing that gaming should and can be for everyone, the non-profit Able Gamers specializes in creating custom controllers to suit people with various disabilities, opening a new world to so many people. Like Extra Life, Able Gamers also raises money by giving gamers the chance to marathon their favorite game and still make money for an incredible cause. Don't think you can make it a whole day playing one game? They'll take any form of fundraising to help bring some happiness to other peoples' lives.
3. Gamers Outreach
This company goes the extra mile for kids stuck in hospitals by bringing them video games to play during their stay. Happiness has been proven to help kids heal which is why Gamers Outreach builds the video game carts to let kids connect with others and have a little bit of fun among all the tests and medicine they have to take.
