3 wedding reception trends to make you say I doUncategorized
It's springtime! The birds are singing, the sun is shining…love is in the air and so is wedding season. After saying your "I Dos", will you throw a rockin' reception for your guests? Say goodbye to the stuffy receptions of old and get ready for a new way to celebrate tying the knot. Donna Ruko and David Twigger of Vermilion Events have the top three wedding reception trends of 2017:
1. Lounge Furniture
One of the hottest wedding trends is chilling out. Soft seating with different types of couches, sofas, and tables is the new chic, bumping out the typical folding chairs and round tables. If you're on a tighter budget, do a piece or two of fluffly furniture in the corner to create a comfy vibe then fill the rest of your venue seating with traditional furniture.
2. Flavored Fondant
The tunes are great, the booze is better, but there's no wedding reception without a big, tasty cake. Fondant is often used to make intricate shapes and designs in cakes, but its natural flavor hasn't always had the best reputation. But now you can get your cake decorated with fondant that has subtle flavors like chocolate, berry, buttercream and more, that now accent the flavors of your cake! Have your cake and want to eat it too!
3. Terrarium Centerpieces
Forget those old fashioned marbles in vases on your guests' tables. The trendiest centerpieces are now greenery like moss and succulents; and you can add pops of color with flowers.
