4 brilliant Hulu hacks for the binge-watching winLifeHacks The List
Hulu has a live TV feature now that’s creating a lot of great buzz so it’s time to get the most out of your streaming service. Kristina Guerrero has four Hulu hacks to keep you on track and will up your binge-watching game.
1. Get One Month Free
The first month of the standard Hulu service is free which saves you $7.99, but you can score more free months as long as other people in your house use their emails. Once your free trial month is up you can score a free week of Hulu Live to see if you like it. This saves you from having to drop $39.99 up front. You get Hulu’s full library of on-demand content plus over 50 top channels including news and sports.
2. All About the Add-Ons
You don’t have to create multiple accounts to get all the premium cable channels anymore. On the menu bar at the top of the screen you can add HBO, Showtime and Cinemax to your Hulu subscription.
3. Use Smartphone as Remote
There’s nothing worse than using the TV remote to type in the name of a show I want to watch. Instead, download the app and use that to type, swipe and search. It’s so much easier!
4. Take a Vacation
If you need to take a break or want to go on vacation, you can put your account on hold for up to 12 weeks.
WEB BONUS: Know Your Desktop Settings
Don’t let the desktop settings confuse you. Embrace it and transform your viewing experience. Resizing the Hulu window can be a drag. Instead, use the pop out video option under “View Modes.” The settings menu also lets you raise or lower the background lights for a more theatrical experience, control autoplay and captions and adjust the quality. So dim the lights, crank up the volume and get ready to binge.
