If this year belonged to anyone, it absolutely belonged to Ed Sheeran. His song "Shape of You" was one of 2017's biggest tracks, being played on YouTube over 2.8 billion times, making him one of the most insanely popular music artists on the site. So, it's no surprise that his Carpool Karaoke video with James Corden was also one of the most viral videos of the year, too.

Since June, Ed and James' bromance has blown up on Youtube with over 40 million views, and that's why it's on our list of our favorite mega-viral videos of the year:

But this clearly isn't the only time Ed Sheeran's gone viral this year – it's in his blood! So, we're taking a dive into 4 other videos of Ed's that not only broke records, but also solidified his place in 2017's viral history.

1. Ed Sheeran on Game of Thrones

If you think people only love Ed's music on YouTube, you'd be wrong. Even though he only appeared in GOT for around 5 minutes, the video of his performance as a Lannister guard still racked up over 2 million views. The people just can't get enough of him!

2. "Thinking Out Loud"

This is another music video that broke the billion views mark. Since it's been posted, the video has been watched over 2 billion times (and counting)! Looks like people like Ed not keeping his thinking to himself – well that, or, they just like pretending that they're the ones dancing with him in the video…

3. "100 Things About…"

Sometimes, Ed doesn't even have to sing to get all the viral love. This interview with MTV News was watched over 911,000 times by people who wanted to know, well, 100 things about the singer, like the first album he ever bought (Conspiracy of One by The Offspring), what his first tattoo was (a precious paw print), and what British tradition he's best at – Hint: it has to do with pancakes.

4. "Give Me Love"

There's a lot of love for Ed Sheeran on YouTube. This music video is almost up to 500,000 million views and will probably bust over the billion mark at some point. Ed just knows how to write hit songs that people can relate to and the success is well-warranted.
