5 Things You Didn’t Know About Gilmore GirlsEntertainment The List
We are so excited that the Gilmore Girls are coming back to Stars Hollow for a four episode special run on Netflix.
To celebrate this awesome news Kristina Guerrero has five things you didn't know about this beloved television series.
1. Super Speed Talking
It wasn't your imagination those girls were talking super-fast. Average TV scripts are around 45 to 50 pages for an hour show, but Gilmore Girl's scripts were around 75 – 80 pages.
2. Carole King’s Cameo
That iconic theme song was written by Carole King and performed as a duet with her own daughter. King even ended up in a reoccurring role in the series as Sophie Bloom — a music shop owner who rarely gives praise.
3. Sookie’s Casting
She was almost played by someone other than Melissa McCarthy! Mad TV’s Alex Borstein was originally cast as the loveable, but slightly clumsy cook. Even though she was replaced in that role she still ended up in the show playing quite a few characters.
4. Coke Over Coffee
You probably know that the Gilmore Girls are always drinking coffee, but you may not have known that Alexis Bledel was drinking Coke most of the time. She actually hates coffee.
5. All The Famous Cameos
Even if you haven't seem Gilmore Girls you probably know some of the famous people who have made cameos like Seth MacFarlane, Madeleine Albright, Jane Lynch, Christiane Amanpour and even Michelle Obama.
Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life premieres on Netflix November 25, 2016.
