5 Tips To Find the Best Deal At A Thrift ShopDeals The List
Thrift stores are a great place to find budget-conscious selections. Sometimes shopping at a thrift store can be overwhelming, especially if you're looking for that "diamond in the rough." In celebration of National Thrift Shop Day (August 17), we're sharing five tips to get the best deal.
1. Find the best stores near you
Thrift shops come in all shapes and sizes. Some specialize in clothes while others are all about furniture. With a little research, map out the specialty thrift shops in your neighborhood.
2. Ask about daily deals
Call your local thrift store and ask about daily deals. Some stores offer discounts on colored tags, teacher discounts and senior citizen discounts.
3. Shop off-season
Usually people do their “spring cleaning” in order to make room for summer clothes and vice versa in the winter. Shop for winter essentials in the summer and summer essentials in the winter when those seasonal goods aren't in demand.
4. Look for brand names
Find designer brands because they have better stitching and high-quality fabrics. Your designer thrift store finds will last longer!
5. Find out when the shop gets new inventory
Call up your local shop and ask when they get new stuff. Some stores get merchandise every day, while others get new items once a week.
