Your zodiac sign is a big part of your personality – so much that it can even help decorate your home! Looking to spruce up your space with based on your astrological sign? We chatted with astrologer Jim Ventura who showed us how to redecorate with our star signs in mind.

1. Aries

This strong independent sign is influenced by powerful, aggressive Mars. They are Cardinal, masculine signs whose primary element is fire. Their lives are an open book and their homes often reflect this. They often have a “I did it myself” perspective, and will often look for surroundings that reflect their uniqueness and strength. They may be drawn to bold dynamic colors and anything that reflects the pride they take in being one-of-a-kind.

2. Taurus

The sign symbolized by the bull is influenced by sensual Venus. They are fixed, feminine signs whose primary element is earth. The bull loves good food, beautiful objects, and comfortable surroundings. The practical, hard-working sign often seeks relaxation, and will be drawn to comfort. Taurus gravitates to furniture and things that are well-used as long as those things are still useful and comfortable. While comfort is of utmost importance, they often still have high standards and exquisite tastes.

3. Gemini

The sign symbolized by the twins is influenced by hot and fast Mercury. They are mutable, masculine signs whose primary element is air. Geminis are a sharp, aware sign that understands the concept of duality, and this may be reflected in their home. Often they are up on what is current and have a heightened awareness of trends. Their homes can often reflect “smart” choices but be very mixed with different themes reflecting their many different and diverse interests on life.

4. Cancer

The sign symbolized by the crab is influenced by the sensitive moon. They are a cardinal, feminine sign whose primary element is water. The sign that is all about creating comfort for themselves and those they love while is also often practical. They have a very distinctive style, which may surface even more as they age. Items in their home are often a combination of warm and comfortable and pictures of family may even be prominent.

5. Leo

The sign symbolized by the lion is influenced by the powerful sun. They are a fixed, masculine sign whose primary element is fire.  Leo is all about style and creativity. Leo can be proud and often their homes can reflect this notable style. They often have strong colors and elements in the home that reflect what makes them shine. Many Leos are good cooks and prominent kitchen features are often notable. They are attracted to fiery colors and even gold. 

6. Virgo

The sign symbolized by the virgin is influenced by hot and fast mercury. They are a mutable, feminine sign whose primary element is earth. This is a sign that is all about practicality and utility. The home will definitely reflect this. Also a sign of expertise, whatever Virgo puts his or her effort into will often be done extremely well. So if creating a beautiful home is part of Virgo’s tastes, it is likely to be done very well indeed! Virgo likes things that are clean and well put together.

7. Libra

The sign symbolized by the scales is influenced by sensual Venus. They are a cardinal, masculine sign whose primary element is air. Libra is truly a sign that wants beauty and style to be part of everything they do. A Libra’s space will often reflect a strong sense of balance, putting much focus on creating a room that is pleasing to the eye. Libra can be indecisive at times, and may have a mixture of styles and directions their homes have taken over the years. Creating balance is also something that a Libra’s home will emphasize. 

8. Scorpio

The sign symbolized by the scorpion is influenced by distant Pluto. They are a fixed, feminine sign whose primary focus is water. Scorpio can be all-or-nothing in the way they view life. If interested in creating a comfortable home they will be painstaking about it. If this is not a primary interest, they can be less focused on how their home may look or feel. They need a place to retreat to that makes them feel it is completely theirs. Darker colors will often contrast the lighter colors in a Scorpio’s home. They can be drawn to art and items that they see as powerful and strong. They tend to keep their more personal items kept away from prying eyes.

9. Sagittarius

The sign symbolized by the archer is influenced by colorful Jupiter. They are a mutable, masculine sign whose primary focus is fire. The things they consider themselves knowledgeable about can naturally be part of their homes. They like to be “hip.” Remnants from their travels and diverse elements of other cultures may show up in their homes. Because Sagittarius often loves travel, their homes can really be a place where they simply hang their hats. Sagittarius is ultimately like Jupiter, a colorful sign, and their homes will reflect this. 

10. Capricorn

The sign symbolized by the goat in influenced by beautiful and pristine Saturn. They are cardinal, feminine sign whose primary focus is earth. Capricorn is often practical and focused on usefulness, which will be reflected in their homes. A sign that works hard will often be drawn to a home that reflects the benefits of their hard work. A responsible sign, Capricorn will often be drawn to elements that reflect this aspect. Capricorn’s mature disposition can make them quite aware of what a home “should be” and they will work hard to create a comfortable one.

11. Aquarius

The sign symbolized by the water bearer is influenced by eccentric Uranus. They are fixed, masculine sign whose primary focus in air. Aquarius is a sign that never wants to be "put in a box." They often have a mix of different styles and interests and can be on the cutting edge of what is new. They look for a place that reflects their unique vision. Every Aquarius home will be noted for its individuality.

12. Pisces

The sign symbolized by two fish is influenced by dreamy Neptune. They are a mutable, feminine sign whose primary focus is water. While often idealistic and dreamy about how life should be they can contrast this aspect by being quite practical as well. The Image of two fish attached at the tail and pulled in two directions at once reflects this aspect. Mystical, magical things like candles and incense can be mixed in with the practicalities. Like other water signs, they often look for colors and design that are warm and may have elements of their past (pictures of family and friends) and keepsakes in their homes.
