Cook with Less Oil: 3 Recipes Using an Air Fryer

Air fryers circulate hot air around foods instead of soaking them in oil. And some cost as little as eighty dollars. Here are three recipes you can create using an air fryer!
1. Breakfast Frittata Recipe
Try this delicious breakfast frittata recipe. The ingredients in this breakfast staple offer a great source of protein and fiber – without pan-frying in it globs of fat!
Ingredients
Sausage
2 eggs whisked in a bowl
Diced bell peppers and onions
Shredded cheese
Pico de gallo
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Start by coating a small pan with olive oil. Then slice the sausages, place them into the pan, and cook at 350 degrees for 5 minutes. Whisk your eggs in a bowl and pour them into the pan with the sausages after the sausages are done cooking. Add in 1.5 tbsp of diced bell peppers and 1.5 tbsp of diced onions into the egg and sausage mixture. Then sprinkle the shredded cheese on top. Cook your frittata at 350 degrees for 6 minutes. Next, remove the frittata pan from the air fryer and place on a plate. Finally, top off with a spoonful of pico de gallo, and add salt and pepper to taste.
2. Beer Battered Fish Tacos Recipe
There’s nothing fishy about this dish! Try this lower-fat take on fish tacos. We recommend using cod or Tilapia, but feel free to swap in any fish you’d like.
2 eggs whisked in a bowl
1.5 cups lager beer
1.5 cups of flour
Fish fillet
Diced onions, tomatoes and corn
Diced jalapenos
Chopped cilantro
Shredded lettuce
Tortillas
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Start by adding 1.5 cups of lager beer to the whisked egg mixture. Pour 1.5 cups of flour into a bowl or glass dish, and add 1 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of pepper. Cut cod or Tilapia fish fillet into nugget size pieces. Mixed your diced onions, tomatoes, corn together in a bowl. Using tongs, dip your fish into the egg mixture, then dredge it in the flour mixture. Place a piece of parchment paper onto the bottom of the air fryer. Place your pieces of battered fish into the air fryer on top of the parchment paper. Cook the fish at 400 degrees for 15 minutes, then remove from the air fryer and place onto a plate. Fill the tortillas with your fish pieces – along your mixture of onion, tomato and corn. Finally, add some chopped jalapeños chopped cilantro and shredded lettuce. Now time to enjoy and eat!
3. Apple Turnover Recipe
This apple turnover recipe is literally short and sweet! Just follow these few steps and ingredients to whip up a tasty treat sans all the extra drying oil.
Ingredients
Pre-made or home-made pie crust
Apple pie filling
1 whisked egg
Directions
Start by cutting the rounded edges off your pie crust to make a square. Add in apple pie filling to the center of the crust, then fold one corner of the crust over to the opposite corner to make a triangle. Using the back of a fork, press down the edges of the folded crust to seal the turnover. Whisk an egg in a bowl and then brush on top of turnover. Place the turnover into the air fryer and cook at 310 degrees for 15 minutes.
