3 Cool Crocktail Recipes to Warm Up Your Winter
LOWDOWNWe love our crockpots because on a winter evening, nothing’s more satisfying than a hearty, slow-cooked meal…Well, except for maybe a tasty, slow-cooked cocktail! We’re making three cool crocktails that are sure to warm up your winter.
1. Spiked Cider CocktaiL
6 cups apple cider
¼ cup sugar
2 stick cinnamon
8 whole cloves
½ teaspoon anise seeds
1 large naval orange, sliced
1 medium lemon, sliced
1 cup bourbon
Directions
Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 3 1/2 to 4 hours or on high-heat setting for 2 hours.
2. Baileys Irish Cream Dream
Next, we’re taking your morning coffee to an after party in a cup .
Ingredients
6 c. Brewed Espresso (or extra strong coffee)
1 c. Baileys or other Irish Cream Liquor
1/2 c. Heavy Whipping Cream
1 T. Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
Whipped cream or sprinkles, for garnish
Directions
Combine coffee and Baileys in a slow cooker.
Whisk in whipping cream and cocoa powder.
Cover and cook on high for 90 minutes, stirring once halfway through.
To serve: Pour in the Irish Cream Coffee and top with whipped cream. Garnish with chocolate sprinkles or a very light dusting of cocoa powder, if desired. Can be served hot or over ice.
3. Warm Winter Sangria
Our last crocktail is a warm winter twist on the classic summer sangria!
Ingredients
1 bottle white wine
1 bottle red wine
1 cup orange juice
1 cup brandy
4 cups mixed frozen fruit
½ cup simple syrup
2 orange, sliced
2 cinnamon sticks
Directions
Combine ingredients in slow cooker. Cover and cook on high for 1 hour, then keep warm on low until ready to serve. Ladle into glasses.
