CVS isn’t just a place you go and get medicine. There’s actually a lot of ways to save! The List is chatting with Free Stuff Finder’s Tina Su, who’s sharing her favorite CVS money-saving hacks.

1. Sign Up for CVS ExtraCare Rewards

CVS coupons stand out from the rest because most of the time, they’re personalized to your shopping habits. “Especially if you are new or you haven’t shopped there for some time, they will send you high-value percentage off coupons,” Tina says. That could be the advantage of sometimes giving a store a break. It gives them a chance to try to lure back your business.

2. Sign Up for Beauty Club

CVS has amazing discounts on beauty products. You can earn $3.00 for every $30 you spend. This includes things like makeup, haircare and even skincare. You trigger the $3 reward every time you hit the $30 threshold, which you can accumulate over multiple visits. But, check your balance in December, because the slate wipes clean at the end of the calendar year.

“So, if you are at $28, go into the store and buy a $2 nail polish, and you will get an extra $3. It’s free money,” Tina explains.

3. Take Advantage of Rainchecks

When a sale item is out of stock, you can ask CVS for a raincheck. The raincheck will list the item with the sale price and the quantity you were planning on purchasing. Rainchecks are unique to CVS and they never expire. In addition to putting the sale price of an item on a raincheck, make sure to explicitly ask an employee to also add any rewards dollars on the raincheck. And when you’re redeeming the raincheck, make sure the cashier force-triggers the extra bucks rewards on the raincheck.

“It’s something that they can do, but sometimes you do have to ask for it,” Tina says.

4. Use the Red Coupon Machine at the Front of the Store

Scan your card or enter your number at the red coupon machine at the front of every CVS. These print out personalized coupons, which can be different for every person. These are CVS coupons which can be stacked with manufacturer’s coupons and store sales.

5. 98% Rule

For advertised ExtraCare bucks promotions, you don’t need to spend exactly the threshold amount. If you get within 98%, the rewards will trigger. For example, if the promotion is “Get $5 when you spend $20,” the reward will trigger if you spend $19.60.

6. Quarterly Rewards

At CVS, you earn 2% back on qualifying purchases every quarter. You just need to earn at least $1 in the quarter for the reward to print (thats $50 in spendings for the quarter). Quarterly rewards will print Jan. 1st, April 1st, July 1st and October 1st.
