Drink Recipes: Booze Based on Your Favorite TV ShowsLifestyle The List
If you've ever enjoyed watching Workaholics, Brass Monkeys, or Orange is the New Black – you're in luck! We're seeing article after article of booze trends we'll be seeing this year. Champagne cocktails, truffle cocktails, and all those high-falutin mixed drinks that no one can make. But forget getting fancy! We're gettin' deplorable with our drink menu, which is all inspired by TV shows! Check out some these low-brow refreshments below.
1. The Brass Monkey
The first drink on our list is called the Brass Monkey, which draws from two 80s inspirations. If you grew up listening to the Beastie Boys in the 80s and 90s, you probably know what a Brass Monkey is. But did you know Brass Monkeys is also the name of a 1980s Australian sitcom? Well, now you do! For this recipe you'll just need two ingredients: a forty ounce of Old English and pulp-free orange juice. Start by pouring half of the Old English bottle out, and then fill it back up with the orange juice. Think of this drink as a ghetto mimosa, if you will. Lastly, don’t forget to serve this cocktail in brown paper bags to really class it up.
2. Prison Wine
The next drink on our list is inspired by a Netflix series that many of us love streaming on our smart TVs: Orange is the New Black! Prison inmates supposedly hide their moonshine inside toilets, but our version is a little more sanitary since we’re serving it in toilet-shaped mugs. To make this drink, all you’ll need is half a cup of grape “drank”, half a cup of fortified wine, and a float of vodka. Then sip and enjoy! Believe us when we tell you, this drink definitely ain't for the faint of heart.
3. Jungle Juice
The final drink on our list called Jungle Juice – like those idiots made in Comedy Central’s Workaholics. For this recipe we're skipping the typical punch bowl and going for Ziploc bags to basically make an adult version of Capri Sun! Start by filling up your baggies with two shots of grain alcohol, then fill up the rest with fruit punch. Don’t forget to garnish with a slice of orange. Now you've got a party drink you can't put down…literally! Bonus idea: pop it in the freezer and make a boozy slushy!
There you have it, folks! Three easy-to-make cocktails based on some popular television shows.
