Cherries are known to have loads of health benefits, but now they are America’s favorite fruit for a different reason – they’re taking over pop culture! The List went straight to the sources to find three ways to incorporate the cherry trend into your home, fashion and even food.

1. Home Décor

We’re seeing cherry blossoms pop up in a lot of home décor, and this is really part of a larger design trend that leans towards Japanese design and minimalism. Design expert Julie Muñiz says you can take the trend literally and put cherry sculptures or cherry curtains in your home. Or, you can infuse a cherry-inspired color into your walls or accent furniture.

2. Fashion

Next up, fashion! Tiffany Reid, fashion editor for Cosmopolitan Magazine, says cherries have become fashion’s favorite fruit. Reid says you can find this trend in both luxury and less expensive brands. The style comes in shirts, shoes, accessories, and pretty much anything else you can think of.

3. Food

Finally, drunken cherry cocktails are popping up on menus across America. We stopped at Mountain Shadows Resort to see how the fruit is taking over our taste buds. Travis Garcia, Lead Bartender at the resort is helping us whip out a delicious Drunken Cherry Cocktail you’ll go crazy for.

  • 1.5 ounces Casa Amigos Reposado Tequila
  • 0.5 ounces Cointreau Liqueur
  • 1 ounce lime juice
  • 0.5 ounces lemon juice
  • 0.5 ounces agave nectar
  • 1 ounces drunken cherry syrup

Shake all ingredients well and pour over ice. Add the drunken cherries as garnish.

To make drunken cherries:

Take a jar of Luxardo Cherries and combine one cup of cherries and the traditional cherry syrup with eight ounces of Courvoisier. Let the cherries soak for 2-5 days, shaking them slightly each day.
