Dumb Laws: A List of Unbelievably Weird Laws in the U.S.
BREAKDOWN court tvIf you’re looking for a list of weird laws in the U.S. ,we’ve got you covered! But before we unveil it, you may want to stop what you’re doing because it could be illegal. That’s right. Lawyer and lead anchor of Court TV Vinnie Politan talks us through some pretty dumb laws.
1. No Feeding Pigs Garbage – Arizona
First on our list of weird laws in the U.S.? You better think twice before feeding pigs garbage. “In Arizona, if you want to feed garbage to someone else’s pig, or just a random pig that’s out there, first you gotta go downtown and get a permit to do it,” shares Vinnie. “Why you would want to do it, I have no idea.” Sounds like one of those dumbs laws that originated from a colorful backstory…
2. No Getting Fish Drunk – Ohio
Ohio is home to one of the most questionable, dumb laws we’ve ever heard of! “I’ve got a little warning if you visit one of those lakeside bars in Ohio,” says Vinnie. “It’s against the law in that state to get a fish drunk. I wanna meet the guy who gets prosecuted for doing that, ‘cause I want to ask him how he did it!” Um, we’d have lots of questions to ask, too! You can see clearly why this one lands on our roundup of weird laws in the U.S.
3. No Honking After 9 PM – Arkansas
For Arkansas, we’ve got not just one but two dumb laws! The first – you better keep those car horns silent after 9pm in this state. “Section 1855 of Little Rock’s Code of Ordinances – it states no person shall sound the horn on a vehicle at any place where cold drinks or sandwiches are served after 9 pm,” says Vinnie. Perhaps they don’t want to scare away all the food and beverages?! “Also, it’s not against the law, but highly discouraged to miss pronounce the name as Arkansas,” adds Vinnie. A caramba!
4. No Using Someone Else’s Netflix – Tennessee
Finally, this is probably one of those weird laws in the U.S. we’ve all been guilty of breaking: Tennessee says lay off your friend’s Netflix account! “It’s against the law to use someone else’s Netflix account,” reports Vinnie. “Who is going to arrest you, the internet police?” Sheesh!
And those are some dumb laws still in effect in America.
