The Emmys, which celebrate the very best of TV, are September 17th – and four shows have 20 or more nominations each! Let’s check them out so you can catch up and prep before the big show.

1. Game of Thrones

The first show to catch up on before the Emmys is Game of Thrones. This extraordinary fantasy drama leads this year’s pack with 22 nominations, including Best Drama, which it won 2 years ago! Since the series began, it’s won 38 total Emmys – the most of any show ever! And it’s looking to keep adding to its tally, especially since the final season is set to debut next year. You can watch it all from the beginning on HBO NOW.

2. Westworld

HBO also airs the next Emmys heavy hitter on our list: Westworld at number two. This sci-fi western (wow, that’s a heck of unique genre, isn’t it?!) will likely win some at least a few of the 21 Emmys it’s nominated for – which includes several acting nods, as well as Outstanding Drama. The stakes are very real in this show, which was the premium network’s most watched freshman offering ever, and recently wrapped up its second season. Catch up on both on HBO NOW, but be ready to question everything and repeatedly have your mind blown.

3. The Handmaid’s Tale

The drama continues on Hulu with the 3rd Emmys juggernaut on our list: The Handmaid’s Tale. You can expect this dystopian drama to win some accolades at this year’s awards show. It’s up for 20 nominations, including eight nominations just for acting, plus Outstanding Drama Series too. Catch up on the first two seasons on Hulu now to learn all about Offred and the terrifying world she lives in. The first season brought home 8 wins, so we’ll see if this time they do even better.

4. Saturday Night Live at the Emmys

But it’s not all drama at the Emmys. Saturday Night Live is also making some big noise at number four. And, yes, the “Weekend Update” anchors Colin Jost and Michael Che are hosting the big awards show this year – the same year their show has 21 nominations! Expect crazy jokes, and at least one moment that tries to be as viral as some of the year’s most memorable SNL sketches – like the one featuring Black Panther star Chadwick Baseman.
