Who doesn't love a good old romantic comedy? Turns out, there's different tastes in movies all around the country. CableTV.com, a site that explores viewer habits, analyzed Google search data and found the most popular romantic comedies in every state. Here are the ones each state falls in love with, across America.
1. Hawaii – 50 First Dates
Let's start our trip on white sand beaches as we say aloha to Hawaii and its gorgeous island scenery. It's no surprise that 50 First Dates is the state's favorite. The movie was released in 2004, stars Adam Sandler next to Drew Barrymore and was shot in part in Oahu.
2. California – 500 Days of Summer
500 Days of Summer came in as the romantic comedy that Californians love most. The drama was released in 2009 and stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel. It's your classic screenplay about a man who falls head over heels for a woman who shields her heart from being hurt. It's a must for movie nights with the girls!
3. Alabama – Sweet Home Alabama
You'll find a common denominator – a lot of states love romantic comedies that originated from their state. Such as Sweet Home Alabama, shot in the state, released in 2002 starring Reese Witherspoon.
4. Texas – Pretty in Pink
Everything's bigger in Texas! Big because their favorite – Pretty in Pink – is actually the number one choice in 13 other states too. It reigned number one in North Carolina, New Mexico, Nevada, Nebraska, Missouri and more. It's an 80s classic and stars Molly Ringwald and Jon Cryer.
5. Ohio – Groundhog Day
Folks in Ohio fall in love with Groundhog Day over and over again. The movie was released in the 90s, and has a glowing 8/10 review on IMDb. The film, featuring Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell was also a favorite in New Hampshire.
6. Pennsylvania – Silver Linings Playbook
Silver Linings Playbook is the key to the Keystone State – taking the number one spot for best romantic comedy. Other states agreed, as well. The 2012 drama featuring Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence was also a favorite in Delaware.
