Food: 3 Gourmet Burger Recipes That’ll Tickle Your Taste BudsUncategorized
McDonalds recently announced that it's moving on to fresh beef instead of frozen patties. If you'd rather skip the fast food line and make your own, we've got you covered! Chef Tom D'Ambrosio, owner of Aioli Gourmet Burgers, is sharing three fun burger recipes you can make right at home.
1. Italiano Burger
First up, no need to serve up pasta if you want a taste of Italy. Try the Italiano Burger which basically combines a Caprese salad with a burger!
Making the perfect patty is where the art starts. Chef Tom says the key is seasoning only one side of the patty. "That's important because if you salt both sides, it's a salt bomb," he warns. Once you flip the burger, the salt penetrates the meat and evenly distributes. While the second side is cooking, put your mozzarella cheese on top. Then eat up!
Ingredients: Fresh Mozzarella, pancetta bacon, vine ripe tomato, basil garlic aioli, balsamic reduction and fresh basil.
2. Surf and Turf Burger
Next up is the Surf and Turf Burger. “We formed a little crab cake patty, grilled that in some butter, and then we made of course another aioli sauce,” shares Chef Tom. Instead of aioli sauce, you can buy hollandaise sauce to get the same flavor! Place the crab cake on top of your burger, add vine ripe tomatoes and arugula, then top it with the sauce. The result is an earthshaking creation perfect for the land and sea!
Ingredients: Pineapple, soy glaze, pepper jack cheese, thin red onion, teriyaki aioli and crisp lettuce.
3. Pineapple Teryaki Burger
And finally, for a hint of Hawaii try a Pineapple Teriyaki Burger. Start by grilling your sliced pineapple to bring out the sweetness. Then cook your burger and put a slice of cheese on top.
“We have pepper jack cheese to bring in a little bit of spice; some caramelized onions; [and] again some more bacon, because who doesn't love bacon.” Then top it with teriyaki and siracha sauce, blend, and say aloha to your hunger!
Ingredients: New England blue crab cake, vine ripe tomato, béarnaise aioli, lemon arugula.
