What was once reserved for scallywags and ne'er-do-wells has become a normal, artistic way for people to express themselves. With a reported 45 million, American's are sporting at least one tattoo and the industry as a whole is raking in almost $2 billion each year, so it looks like the trend is here to stay. Kristina Guerrero is talking with Lady Luck Tattoo’s Taryn Moore to get the top three ink trends of 2017.
1. Water Color
It has a lot of flow as water color does when you apply it to paper. It lends more to a painterly effect and that holds a classical beauty appeal to most people. They tend to be more abstract and being different is cool.
It's a pattern in which all life is based from like the Fibonacci sequence or even the seed of life, it may be a fractal which is a pattern that repeats itself into infinity. They look beautiful and can be very simple or complex. Whether they're patterns or something like you'd see in Da Vinci's note book, these tattoos are bold and organic.
Last but not least, traditional tattoos. They are solid lines, bold colors, using things like anchors, clipper ships, daggers, tigers and panthers. These are pretty traditional so a style popular with old-school soldiers and sailors has gotten new life in the tattoo world of today.
