Hair Trends: How to Create 3 Gorgeous BraidsLifestyle The List
Braiding hair is a hot trend that dates back to the 1900s. It has had resurgence in popularity, but they're not your grandma’s braids. Donna Ruko and hair stylist, Kerry Mitchell, have three updated looks, and whether you're ready to dive in head first, or take some baby steps, they've got the braid for you!
1. Boxer Braid
Start at the hairline with a small section, and start weaving the three pieces, picking up more hair as you go. Just don't get confused. It’s actually a Dutch braiding technique, so it is the reverse of a French braid.
2. Fishtail Braid
Start by dragging the hair over to the side, and divide it into two equal sections. Take a small piece from section , and drag it to the inside of section one. Then take a small section from the other section and drag it around to the inside. Be sure to leave room at the end to fan out.
3. Accent Braid
Take a small section, then start the same way you’d start a normal Dutch braid. Separate into three sections on a triangle, dragging the hair underneath, and with each one, picking up a little bit of hair, and incorporate it underneath. Close the deal with bobby pins.
These braiding tricks are a great way to get that hot summer look, whether you’re at a pool party, or a classy night out!
