Halloween is right around the corner, and you know what that means – trick-or-treating and tons of candy! But what can you do with all those leftover sweets? Try pairing them with a glass of wine to enjoy some goulishly good flavor profiles. Vivino is helping folks do just that by releasing their guide of perfect Halloween candy and wine pairings – and we decided to highlight five of our favorites!

1. Snickers + Red Wines

If you’ve never paired Snickers with a glass of red wine, you’re missing out because it’s a match made in heaven. Try medium red options like red table wine, Tempranillo and Zinfandel. And if you’re tempted, bold red options will also work, like Cabernet Sauvignon, Aglianico and Malbec.

2. Skittles + Dry and Sweet Wines

Here are two different options of wine that will match perfectly with the taste of the rainbow. Sweet white wines like Malvasia and Moscato will enhance the sweetness of Skittles, while dry white wines like Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc will let that sweetness take center stage.

3. Starburst + Sweet White Wine

Similar to Skittles, Starbursts also have those berry flavors that melt in your mouth when you bite into them. Pairing Starbursts with sweet white wines like Malvasia and Moscato will take those flavors to the next level.

4. M&M’s + Bold Red Wines

The chocolatey goodness of M&M’s can only be matched to the bold flavors behind a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon, Aglianico or Malbec. Other wines that will go perfectly with these tiny drops of chocolate include Red Table Wine, Tempranillo, Sangiovese and Zinfandel.

5. Butterfinger + Rich White Wines

The rich peanut flavor of Butterfingers can only be matched with the flavor of the world’s most popular varietal wine – Chardonnay. The chocolate bar also pairs amazing with other rich white wines, such as Roussanne, Marsanne and Viognier.

As you can see, Halloween candy isn’t just for kids anymore. These candy and wine pairings are guaranteed to be the highlight of your All Hallow’s Eve!
