The royal wedding is around the corner. And if you thought your wedding was or will be expensive, wait until you hear the cost of this one! We're breaking down Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s $44 million wedding by the numbers.
1. The Invitations
$28,000 was spent on just the stationary for invitations – but they were printed with gold ink.
2. The Venue
$482,000 is the cost of the wedding venue – St. George’s Chapel on the grounds of the Windsor Castle. And being royalty won't get them out of the $240 in church fees!
3. The Music
$413,000 is how much the music will cost. The performers include the Kingdom Choir, and 19-year-old cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason.
4. The Entertainment
The rest of the entertainment will run $76,000 – and that may include a fly-by from the Royal Air Force.
5. The Food
$394,000 is the price tag of catering, which takes a lot of work.
6. The Cake
And another $69,000 will be spent on just the cake… Made by Claire Ptak of Violet Bakery.
7. The Booze
Guests will wash down the food with $266,000 in booze. The royal couple definitely isn’t skimping on the alcohol. They're expected to serve Bollinger champagne which runs around $109 a bottle.
8. The Threads
When it comes to the clothing the total for groomswear is $11,000; for bridesmaids it's $6,900; and the flower girls and page boy's outfits will cost $2,300 total. But Meghan's dress alone will cost a staggering $413,000. We don't know what she'll wear yet, but we got a sneak peak at her in white from her show Suits.
9. The Flowers
$150,000 is how much the floristry will cost – with some of the flowers coming from the Royal Park.
10. The Security
But the biggest price tag of all is for security. Totaling around $41 million.
