How to Get the Best Deal: 6 Ways to Save Money in FebruaryLifestyle The List
Learn how to save money on TVs, jewelry, home decor, and more! February might be the shortest month of the year, but there's still plenty of days to count on when it comes to savings. Deal News analyst Janice Lieberman says the amount of savings rely greatly on the number of holidays in the month. Here's our list of what to buy in February, and save you some serious cash:
1. A brand-new TV
Yes, we're really calling the Super Bowl a national holiday and pushing for that Monday off work. The week before the Super Bowl is a great time for those in the market for a new television. You can snag a Samsung 55-inch flat screen 4K TV for around $500. Vizio is also offering their 55-inch, 4K TVs for about the same price. LG, on the other hand, offers a bundle of a 55-inch, 4K smart TV, a gift card and a wall mount all for around $600-$700. And we thought Black Friday only came once a year!
February is the month of love and Valentine's Day is the perfect opportunity to pamper yourself, or your significant other, with beautiful new jewelry. Pearls to be exact. Pearls will go on sale this time of year in several locations. Win Pearl is expected to drop its prices on pearls to as low as $10 to $15.
Last year, Amazon knocked off its prices up to 30 percent off of Valentine's Day jewelry, and Ashford followed suit with discounts of up to 87 percent. JCPenney knocked 65% off select jewelry, and you could even stack coupons for extra savings.
4. Home Decor
Sign that executive order for Presidents Day savings on home goods! Amazon, JCPenney and Macy's will knock down prices on their covers and blankets. Last year, Bed Bath and Beyond discounted bedding and bath items up to 65 percent – a twin duvet cover was only $48. And $12 got you a 10-piece towel set at Walmart. The discounts didn't stop at textiles, with Sur La Table offering up to 75 percent off cookware, bakeware and kitchen gadgets.
5. Wedding Gifts
Think ahead and get ready for wedding season! Now is a great time to get engagement gifts and bridal shower gifts. Buy them today and have them all set for those special celebrations. No more last-minute gift stress!
6. Winter-Related Goods
This time of the year also gives you non-holiday savings on tax preparation software, winter apparel, and even ski vacations. Companies do a last push this season to get your dough before there's no snow.
So February might be the shortest month of the year, but it packs a big punch when it comes to taking care of your wallet.
