Krampus 2018: 3 Horrifying Ways to Celebrate the Christmas DemonHitList
Sure, Santa’s cool, but have you heard of Krampus? Krampus is goat-like demon from European folklore that scares naughty kids into behaving. He’s even got his own parade in countries like Austria and Germany. So we’re scaring the holiday season with three different ways to celebrate the Christmas demon.
1. The Krampus Run
For starters, you can sign up for a virtual Krampus Run. What else makes this 5K different? You don’t have to show up for a planned race – you’re in charge of when you start and finish. All you have to do is register on VirtualRunEvents.com for 18 bucks. Once you get your bib and medal, you can get running! And trust us, nothing motivates your pace like a Christmas demon.
2. Krampus: A Haunted Christmas
Next, Krampus might actually catch you at Krampus: A Haunted Christmas. 13th Floor Entertainment Group is turning eight of their Halloween haunted houses – in places like Phoenix and Denver – into winter scary lands for two nights only through mid-December. You better believe they’re decking their halls with boughs of creepy! And to send even more chills down your spine, Krampus will be joined by none other than Jack Frost himself. Tingle all the way for about 28 bucks.
3. Krampus Movies
If you prefer to scream in the comfort of your own home, you’ve got a slew of Krampus movies to choose from. The newest addition is this year’s Krampus: Origins, but maybe start with the movie that put the Christmas devil on the map – 2015’s Krampus.
