Sip Your Way to Paradise with These 3 Mai Tai Recipes

There’s nothing like a tropical drink to conjure images of tiki huts and sandy beaches. We’re celebrating one in particular – the Mai Tai! Bartender Dave Muhlstein from Hula’s Modern Tiki is shaking up some tropical variations of the Mai Tai.


1. OG Mai Tai


Let’s start with the OG Mai Tai.


2 oz. Appleton’s Reserve Rum

.5 oz. Pierre Ferrand Dry Curaçao

.75 oz. Lime juice

.50 oz. Cherry Liqueur

.75 oz. Giffard orgeat

.5 oz. Goslings Dark Rum float



Shake. Serve in Mai Tai glass.


2. Lilikoi Mai Tai


Paradise continues with the Lilikoi Mai Tai.


2 oz. Cruzan Aged Rum

.25 oz. Passion Fruit

.5 oz. Lime Juice

2 oz. Pineapple Juice

.5 oz. Passoa PassionFruit Liqueur Float



Build in Mai Tai glass

Shake and strain on new ice

Float Passoa


3. Resort Mai Tai


Our final tropical cocktail is the Resort Mai Tai.


2 oz. Cruzan Coconut

1 oz. Lime juice

1 oz. pineapple juice

¾ oz. Re’al Kiwi syrup

¼ oz. POM syrup
