Fans of Prince know he wasn’t just incredibly talented and prolific, but astoundingly versatile. So when we heard there was going to be a Prince immersive experience we said — this is going to be good! Get ready to get purple… we got an inside look at The Purple One’s life and legacy with Kerry Black, the co-founder of Superfly, which produced “Prince: The Immersive Experience.” She showed us a few of the ten immersive spaces, which are jam-packed with iconic outfits, instruments, never before seen photos, and much more.

We’re starting in the Purple Rain Room.

It’s the essence of an immersive experience — you can actually get on the motorcycle, rev the engine, get your photo taken, and be part of that album cover! They’ve actually built out a whole Minneapolis street scene around it including the First Avenue wall. Also part of this room is Studio A, which is where Prince created all his Paisley Park music from the late eighties on. Inside Studio A you get a pair of headphones and you can basically play the raw audio files and move the controls to channel your inner music producer.

Now it’s time to get your party on – in the Glam Slam Dance Studio.

The creators basically created a small club scene where you go in and experience an audio-visual show with a live DJ performing — so get ready to dance to your favorite Prince hit in lighting done by Roy Ben, the same guy who was Prince’s lighting director in the 80’s and 90’s.

Next… the When Doves Cry set

Finally, we’re heading to the set where the legendary When Doves Cry music video was shot. Wanna go all in? If you’re feeling it, you can even crawl out of the bathtub like Prince does in the video! As throughout the whole experience, there are many Easter eggs and hidden surprises, including photos of the pet doves The High Priest Of Pop, kept at Paisley Park.

You can catch the experience in Chicago until October 9th. To learn more you can head to or of course you can watch our video!
