Roseanne + More 90s TV Shows Turning 30 in 2018Entertainment The List
Here's a little nostalgic throwback for you. Remember back when you had to set your VCR so you wouldn't miss your favorite shows? Seems crazy, but it's true! Today, we're looking at some of the shows you probably taped back then. Here are the top four shows turning 30 years old in 2018.
The laugh is back! And while people are loving Roseanne's return to TV, we still can't believe we met the Conner family 30. years ago. The original run of the series was nine seasons, and we're so glad to see the original cast up to the same old shenanigans. Roseanne's reboot airs Tuesdays on ABC.
2. Murphy Brown
The TV anchor proved she didn't need a man to be confident and successful. She even had a baby without one! Remember her struggle to find a good secretary? In ten seasons, Murphy burned through 93 poor secretaries. Fans of the Emmy-winning show can rejoice, as most of the original cast returns this Fall for a 13-episode reboot on CBS.
3. The Wonder Years
Next is a show we wish would get a reboot. The Wonder Years' theme song was basically the signal for families to gather around the small screen to watch a boy grow up in the late 60s along memorable characters like Winnie. We all cheered for these cute kids, and it's hard to believe nearly 30 years ago the show was nominated for an Emmy only six episodes in. Of course, they went on to win 22 of them over six years.
4. The Kids in the Hall
And finally – sitcoms weren't the only thing that had us laughing three decades ago. America met the Canadian Comedy troupe on their sketch, comedy show The Kids in the Hall that started on HBO and moved to CBS. The five comedians took on so many different roles, with no worries about gender. Some of the characters they brought to life during their five-season run include "The Chicken Lady" and "The Eradicator." The crew is looking to possibly reunite on TV with Lorne Michaels once again at the helm.
Dust off your old VHS tapes, and wish these shows a happy birthday by watching your favorite episodes!
