November has Black Friday, December has pre-Christmas sales, and January has post-Christmas sales. But what about March? Analyst Janice Lieberman says there are plenty of deals you can snag. Here are three of the best buys in March!
Do you have any leftover chocolate from Valentine’s Day? The stores do, and lots of it – making this confection one of the best deals in March. “If you find any chocolates from Valentine's Day, those packages will be slashed,” shares Janice. “The chocolate's still fresh and yummy, but cheaper.” You can buy these treats at discounts of up to 75 to 90 percent! And you don't only have to buy the stuff in those goofy, heart-shaped boxes. “Some of the upscale brands, like Godiva and Lindt will, be on sale at places like Target,” explains Janice. “So you can stock up and put it into your Easter baskets.” Talk about a holiday hack!
2. St. Patrick's Day Deals and Freebies
While March isn't widely known for deals, there’s one notable holiday that retailers love to offer deals for. Look out for those St. Patty’s freebies! According to Deal News, last year online retailer 6pm.com discounted more than 3,000 items to $17 or less on March 17. And home goods vendor Designer Living knocked 25% off site-wide – its best flat discount of the year! IHOP got in on the deal madness, too, by offering discounts to anyone wearing green on St. Paddy's Day. Tim Hortons also gave away free mint Timbits with any beverage purchase last year. And Six Flags cut up to $25 dollars off one-day admission tickets on the big day. Fingers crossed that these deals happen again!
3. Gift Cards
While the absolute best month to buy gift cards is December, March comes in at a close second! “For some reason, gift cards are on sale this month as well,” reveals Janice. “Last year, we snagged an iTunes gift card worth $100 for just $85.” Not too shabby!
As you can see, you don’t have to wait until Black Friday to snag to some major deals.
